Discover the techniques of one of America's greatest painters by creating your own copy of a work by John Singer Sargent. Celebrated for his extraordinary draftsmanship, confident brushwork, and remarkable ability to capture light and life, Sargent's direct painting approach makes his work particularly rewarding to study. In this workshop, students of all levels will explore his palette, color mixing methods, and systematic approach to portrait painting, from the initial block-in to the finishing details. Through demonstrations, lectures, and personalized guidance, students will gain insight into Sargent's techniques and artistic philosophy while developing practical skills to strengthen their own oil painting practice.
